Need a new idea for a Thanksgiving side? How about some Roasted Asparagus with honey maple tahini sauce?

Quick and easy delicious sides are a plus, especially on Thanksgiving. You can have this whipped up in about 20 minutes.

First lop off the woody ends. You can snap them off if you want but it’s easier just to stack ‘em up and cut off the ends all at once. If you miss some of the stringy part, it’s ok if you get it in your mouth at dinner time, you’re with family. 🙂

them. This is my attempt to show you the oil streaming down on the asparagus. Now stir them around a bit to lightly bathe them in the oil and spread them out in a single layer on the pan.
Bake for 10 minutes.
To make the sauce all you do is combine the ingredients and stir, stir, stir! It doesn’t take long, really.
Pin this to your Thanksgiving board as a reminder to add to your menu. I like to plan ahead.

minutesIngredients
1 bunch asparagus
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon tahini
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1½ teaspoons lemon juice
½ hot water. Doesn’t need to be boiling hot.
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400
- Stack the asparagus and trim off woody ends
- Spread the asparagus in a single layer onto a rimmed baking pan
- Sprinkle with the olive oil and some salt and pepper
- Roast for 10 minutes
- You want them to have a snap when biting into them. You don’t want them mushy so 10 minutes should be enough.
- Combine the tahini, honey, maple syrup and 2 tablespoons of the hot water.
- Stir to combine. If the sauce is too thick add a little more water until it thins out. You want the sauce to be loose enough to pour onto the asparagus.
- Taste the sauce, if it seems too sweet to you, add a little more tahini and a little more water and stir again.
- Pour onto the asparagus and enjoy!
